della sovranità alimentare e delle foreste) e dal MSAL (Ministero della Salute). Un punto di riferimento nel settore della sperimentazione, grazie a un team multidisciplinare di agronomi, biologi e chimici unito dalla passione per l’agricoltura.

Our Story
From Sicily 🌎 to the world
Agrigeos was founded in 2002 in Sicily, a Mediterranean island with a valuable microclimatic diversity, unique in number and variety of crops. From here it has reached all over Italy and Europe, collaborating in international projects.
Resilience, consistency and a clear vision: to bring quality and expertise to Europe and the world, working alongside companies as partners who can fully manage each project.
From a simple but courageous intuition of its founder, agronomist Salvatore Nicolosi, came a project to enhance the area and give young people a chance to build a future without having to leave their land.
2002
Foundation
Agrigeos was established as an independent Wise Center with a focus on experimentation in agriculture.
2012
Second location opening
In the province of Ragusa, a strategic location for Italy's largest greenhouse growing area.
2017
Activation first breeding
In collaboration with the University of Catania we activate the first breeding of Spodoptera littoralis.
2019
Opening location Acireale
The increased availability of space allows us to create new experimental facilities and increase our service offerings.
2022
Accredited as a Research Center
We are officially a Research Center accredited by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) and registered in the National Research Registry.
Our networks
An international network for multisite experimentation
We enter into collaborative relationships with other Assay Centers throughout Europe, creating a network of partners to set up multisite studies.
We are a founding member of the Rhizome network and a member of FSSA, which brings together the Italian Wise Centers.

A total of 33 professionals, including many young people and numerous highly qualified senior. We are committed to having a team where women e men, young people e seniors, can work with full respect for their diversity and potential.
We are divided into 5 specialized teams so as to offer the best service per area. A administrative part and a group of experienced workers provide support to all teams.

Acireale (CT) - Main Office
Oltre 700 m² di uffici e laboratori, oltre 30.000 m² di campi sperimentali e 8 tunnel per le prove screening.
È specializzata nella conduzione di prove di campo (sia di efficacia in BPS che di residui in BPL), screening e saggi biologici (sia in campo che in laboratorio) di nuovi insetticidi, fungicidi, erbicidi, fertilizzanti e biostimolanti. Dispone di un’ampia gamma di allevamenti massivi di insetti fitofagi e di una collezione dei principali patogeni delle colture agricole.
Acate (RG) - Detached Headquarters
Strategic location located in Italy's largest greenhouse growing area for protected crops and the production of table grapes. The Acate site houses offices and a nematology laboratory in direct support of field activities. Trials are carried out on the ground, thanks to collaboration with a selected network of partner farms.
Widespread Hubs
We are working to create new Hubs spread throughout Italy, so as to facilitate collaborations and meet the needs of partner clients.
