A center of excellence for agricultural experimentation.
Agrigeos is a center accredited by the MASAF (Ministry of Agriculture,
of food sovereignty and forests) and from the MSAL (Ministry of Health). A point of reference in the field of experimentation, thanks to a multidisciplinary team of agronomists, biologists and chemists united by a passion for agriculture.
We believe in an agriculture that evolves without forgetting its roots. For this reason, every project is born from a deep knowledge of the territory and from a a scientific approach that combines research, innovation and environmental respect.

Our history
From Sicily 🌎 worldwide
Agrigeos was founded in 2002 in Sicily, an island in the Mediterranean with a precious microclimatic diversity, Unique to by number and varieties of crops. From here he reached all of Italy and Europe, collaborating on international projects.

From a simple but courageous intuition of its founder, the agronomist Salvatore Nicolosi, A project has been launched to enhance the territory and give young people the opportunity to build a future without having to leave their land.
2002
Foundation
Agrigeos was founded as an independent research center with a focus on agricultural experimentation.
2012
Opening of second location
In the province of Ragusa, a strategic location for the largest sericulture area in Italy.
2017
Activation of the first breeding farm
In collaboration with the University of Catania, we activate the first breeding of Spodoptera littoralis.
2019
Opening of the Acireale office
The greater availability of spaces allows us to create new experimental structures and to increase the range of our services.
2022
Accredited as a Research Center
We are officially a Research Center accredited by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) and registered in the National Research Register.

An international network for multi-site experimentation
We weave Collaborative relationships with other Think Tanks across the entire European territory, creating a network of partners to set up multi-site studies.
We are founding members of the Rhizome network and are part of FISSSA which brings together the Italian Think Tanks.

We are divided into 5 specialized teams so as to offer the best service for the area. One Administrative department and one team of skilled workers provides support to all the teams.

Our locations
Agrigeos research and experimentation centers
Acireale (CT) - Head Office
Over 700 m² of offices and laboratories, over 30,000 m² of experimental fields and 8 tunnels for screening tests.
It specializes in conducting field trials (both efficacy in GEP and residues in GLP), screening and biological tests (both in the field and in the laboratory) of new insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers, and biostimulants. It has a wide range of large-scale breeding facilities of phytophagous insects and a collection of the main pathogens of agricultural crops.
Acate (RG) - Detached Headquarters
Strategic headquarters located in the largest wooded area in Italy for protected crops and the production of Table grapes. The Acate headquarters houses offices and a nematological laboratory Direct support for field activities. The testing is carried out in the field, thanks to the collaboration with a selected network of partner agricultural companies.
