GEP efficacy trials on grapeyards
GEP efficacy trials are underway on grapeyards, infested by the pest Drosophila suzukii Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD).
The efficacy of several innovative insecticides in controlling the pest are being compared to commercial standards strategies.
After insecticide applications, ripening fruits are picked, immersed in a NaCl solution, dissected under stereomicroscope, analysed for damage, and the percentage of infested fruit by larvae and pupae are recorded.
