SPIDAP – Sviluppo di una PIattaforma Digitale basata su intelligenza artificiale per Agrumicoltura di Precisione

The SPIDAP project aims to implement an innovative decision support system for citrus growers based on advanced sensor technology that take into account soil hydrological conditions and plant health. The solution exploits the Plantarray high throughput phenotyping system (www.agrigeos.com/phenotyping-system) and the in vivo sensor Bioristor (www.imem.cnr.it/AdR/1/360/Sensori-per-IOT-e-Sviluppo-Sostenibile/Agricoltura-intelligentea) capable of continuously monitoring plant requirements in real time. SPIDAP is a concrete response to the needs of citrus growers with the aim to increase the efficiency of irrigation water use, guaranteeing abundant high quality production.

Objectives

The objectives of the project:

– Optimisation of water consumption according to actual crop needs;

– Improvement of yields and fruit quality;

– Reduction of operational costs (irrigation volumes, energy costs, planning activities, etc;)

– Increasing the environmental sustainability of Mediterranean citrus cultivation;

– Encouragement for the digitisation of the agricultural sector.
